The City of Greenville, York County, and Richland County were all recognized in the 100 Best Fleets Program, a list that any fleet would be pleased to make.
The 100 Best Fleets Program recognizes fleets through an application and judging process to determine their ranking according to certain criteria. Included in these criteria are the “Use of Technology & Information” and “Resource Stewardship.” Both criteria call out the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies to enhance a fleet’s efficiency. The City of Greenville fleet ranked number 8, Richland County ranked number 63, and York County was given an honorable mention.
“In the year 2000, after analyzing more than 3,500 fleet departments over 21 years in both public and private sectors, I came to the conclusion that the fleet industry was misunderstood and often disrespected. We decided to “shine a light” on all the good things fleet managers do and educate up the ladder so their supervisors and taxpayers understand the value they provide on a daily basis.”
