Lowcountry Go is a regional partnership of the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments, the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration and employers and stakeholders in the Tri-County region. Working together, the program focuses on reducing traffic congestion and improving quality of life for the region.
Lowcountry Go “connects real people with real solutions” and supports carpools, vanpools, public transit, walking, biking, emergency rides home, and many other programs that encourage behavior changes by commuters. In addition, Lowcountry Go works with regional employers to promote sustainable commuting options in the workplace such as work flextime, staggered shifts, and incentives.
Lowcountry Go recently released a web app, Ride Low Go, which can help commuters get from point A to B by offering sustainable commute options and connecting commuters in the region based on origin, destination, time, date, or events.
